Workplace & Facilities Operations Manager
Run the office in Dubai and the administrative side of the firm, so the people in it can work on what matters.
Dubai (on-site)/Full-time/Open
The problem.
Everyone works from the office in Dubai. That puts the physical side of the firm on the critical path: the equipment somebody works on, the security of the room it sits in, access, connectivity, and the space itself. Handled badly, all of it lands on the people who should be working on something else.
What you would do.
- Run the office end to end: layout, access control, maintenance, and the standard of the space.
- Own equipment end to end: specification, procurement, delivery, asset record, and secure disposal.
- Set and keep the physical security standard for rooms where the requirement is real, and make meeting it easy.
- Own vendor and supplier administration, contracts and renewals. Be the person who notices a renewal nobody uses.
- Handle insurance, travel, visa logistics alongside people operations, and the administrative long tail, quietly.
What we would want evidence of.
- You have run an office where an outage or a security lapse had a cost, and can describe what broke first.
- You have managed equipment procurement and logistics into the UAE or a comparable jurisdiction, and know where the delays are.
- You have negotiated with suppliers and know when to walk away.
- You have moved a team into a new space, or reshaped one, without stopping the work.
- You anticipate rather than react, and can give an example.
What would make this a bad fit.
This role is a poor fit if facilities to you means a building and nothing else. Most of the work is the administration around it.
This role is a poor fit if you need a defined remit. This one is defined by what would otherwise land on somebody else.
How to apply.
- IntroductionA short message and something you built. No cover letter, no recruiter, no form.
- Technical conversationNinety minutes on work you actually did, deep enough that neither of us can bluff.
- Paid assignmentA real problem from our backlog, scoped to one day. We pay for it either way.
- ReviewYou defend the work to the people who would maintain it. This is the decision.
