When you leave the tab or lose focus, hidden time accumulates. Let τ = 15 seconds and k = floor(hidden_seconds / τ). Your ranking clock is:

The first hidden chunk costs τ seconds. Each further chunk doubles the penalty. A live taxed-time display on the play page shows the cost of leaving.

After taxed time exceeds four times the quiz time budget, the attempt voids automatically.

Written answers are classified by an automated judge. High-confidence AI-assisted text is rejected. Borderline cases go to human review before ranking. The judge never pays or bans on its own — it flags.
