Treasury Manager
Decide where the firm's capital sits, how quickly it can move, and what happens if a venue stops working.
Dubai (on-site)/Full-time/Open
The problem.
Capital held at a venue is capital exposed to that venue. Capital held away from a venue cannot trade. The distance between those two facts is a continuous decision, made under uncertainty about counterparties. It is one of the few decisions here that can end the firm on its own.
What you would do.
- Own the allocation of capital across venues and custody, with an explicit view of the counterparty exposure each allocation creates.
- Set and maintain the buffers: how much is available to move, how fast, and through which route.
- Own banking and custody relationships, including the diligence they require of us.
- Build and rehearse the contingency: what we do if a venue suspends withdrawals, and in what order.
- Report the picture to the principal in a form that supports a decision within the hour.
What we would want evidence of.
- You have managed counterparty exposure where a counterparty actually failed, or you have planned seriously for it.
- You can hold a live view of where everything is and how long it takes to move.
- You have negotiated a banking or custody relationship for a business the bank found unusual.
- You have rehearsed a contingency rather than written one.
- You are conservative in a way you can justify quantitatively.
What would make this a bad fit.
There is no treasury function to inherit. The first version of everything here is yours.
This role is a poor fit if the counterparty risk in this market makes you uncomfortable in principle. That discomfort is correct. This is still not the right role for you.
How to apply.
- IntroductionA short message and something you built. No cover letter, no recruiter, no form.
- Technical conversationNinety minutes on work you actually did, deep enough that neither of us can bluff.
- Paid assignmentA real problem from our backlog, scoped to one day. We pay for it either way.
- ReviewYou defend the work to the people who would maintain it. This is the decision.
