Trade Support / Operations Specialist
Make every trading day reconcile, and turn each break into a check that finds the next one.
Dubai (on-site)/Full-time/Open
The problem.
A trading day is not finished when the market closes. It is finished when what the venue says happened and what our book says happened are the same thing, and every difference has a name. Most differences are boring. The one that is not is why the work exists.
What you would do.
- Reconcile positions, balances and fills against every venue, daily. Investigate each break to a cause rather than a plausible explanation.
- Own the exception process: what happens when a fill is missing, duplicated, or arrives after the state moved on.
- Turn each recurring break into an automated check, so manual work shrinks rather than scales with the firm.
- Own collateral and margin operations: what is posted where, what is available, and what happens as a threshold approaches.
- Keep the audit trail complete enough that a counterparty's question is answered from records rather than memory.
What we would want evidence of.
- You have chased a break to its cause and can describe the cause.
- You are uncomfortable closing an exception you do not understand, even a small one.
- You have automated part of your own job and can show what it removed.
- You have worked with venue support and know how to escalate in a way that gets an answer.
- You write things down so the next person does not repeat your investigation.
What would make this a bad fit.
This role is a poor fit if you want a mature operations function with defined procedures. You would be writing them.
This role is a poor fit if a recurring manual task does not bother you. The measure of success here is that the daily work gets smaller.
How to apply.
- IntroductionA short message and something you built. No cover letter, no recruiter, no form.
- Technical conversationNinety minutes on work you actually did, deep enough that neither of us can bluff.
- Paid assignmentA real problem from our backlog, scoped to one day. We pay for it either way.
- ReviewYou defend the work to the people who would maintain it. This is the decision.
