Own settlement and asset movement between venues, and make the record match reality without exception.

The problem.

Settlement in crypto derivatives is faster, less standardised and less forgiving than in markets most people learn it in. There is no central counterparty smoothing over differences between venues. The process has to be built rather than followed. A mistake is not reversible by a phone call.

What you would do.

  • Own the settlement cycle for every venue: what settles when, in what asset, and what the record should look like afterwards.
  • Own transfers between venues, including controls that make a mistaken destination impossible rather than unlikely.
  • Reconcile funding and financing amounts against the venue's own statement. Resolve every difference.
  • Build four-eyes controls around anything that moves an asset. Refuse to work around them under time pressure.
  • Document the whole process to the standard a counterparty's diligence would expect. They will ask.

What we would want evidence of.

  • You have owned settlement somewhere the process was not already built.
  • You have designed a control that prevented a mistake, and can describe what it cost in convenience.
  • You do not work around a control because the day is busy, and you have declined to.
  • You can hold a complete mental model of where every asset is at any moment.
  • You are careful in a way that shows up in the records rather than in the description.

What would make this a bad fit.

This role is a poor fit if you expect a central counterparty and standardised messaging. Neither exists here.

This role is a poor fit if you want the work to be routine. It will become routine only because you made it so.
